On the way into the mall yesterday, Tom says to me,
"Mom, you know that guy Harvey? He found out that blood circulates in your body? They used to think that your liver made blood and then it went into your veins and was absorbed but this guy found out that your heart circulates the blood through your veins and arteries...by EXPERIMENTING! On what?!"
He went on about veins, arteries, heart valves, and something about tiny veins that transfer blood between the two. What kind of experiments he might have done. That kind of thing. He read about it in a "Life of Fred" book and looked it up online for more.
Biology is something I think I took one semester of in high school because it was required. I took it my senior year...last. I don't remember a single thing about it. But he will.
